Shannon mentioned me over at her site, when answering these questions … I’ve never done one before so why not eh?

Total amount of music files on your computer:
 3912

The last CD you bought was:
Augie March - Moo, you bloody choir

What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Some “The Cure” song, I’m not really a fan, i think it was “Friday I’m in Love”. Funnily enough it was a guy named Marcel who was playing it too.

Write down 5 songs you often listen to (at the moment) or that mean a lot to you (at the moment):
In no particular order;
Gold Lion - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Stranger Strange - Augie March
Stained Glass Eye - Elliott Smith
Chicago - Sufjan Stevens
Evening On The Ground (Lilith’s Song) - Iron & Wine

Who are you going to pass this stick to? (4 persons) and why?
Mainly because I think I only know four “bloggers”:

  •  Clint
  • Lee
  • Orangepoweredwristwatch (you could do it here as a comment)
  • Algy (you too could do it here as a comment. Go on, you know you want to.)

Anyone else? (Will & Live you both should) if you read this and feel like telling me about what you are listening to, do it. I like listening to recommendations.

    I am rockin′on:
*(Love Is Like A )Heatwave- Martha and the Vandelas. such face-melting soul!!
*Uptown- Prince. Ridiculous posturing and lyrics plus wierd synths divided by the square root of virtuoso guitar equals…. keep your body hottttt!
***Keep love as your Golden Rule-HAL. sweet harmonies…top album
*Copper Kettle- Bob Dylan. from his hated “self-portrait” album. Embodies my aesthetic. so good. ( I pause to sigh and reflect) few chords, strings, rural imagery….tears.. I sing it to baby Esmé and she sleeps. So “Snuggery”
*Night Birds-Ryan Adams. go on, let him in to your heart.(also Call me on your way back home)
*The Sun Aint Gonna Shine (Anymore)- Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons — whoa this is awesome!
*here she comes again- The Stands, SO UNDER-RATED

    that′ll do for now

yes, jesse, sufjan very up your alley, I think- give it a try.
no…. I still cant down-load your songs… they will play, although I didnt wait for the whole thing to load. Why dont you just make me an album? the old way. (go on….)
Charles:I heard Mightnight Juggernauts play a set on jjj ( my radio cred just went down in front of an international audience) including Rock lobster (b-52’s) and the tom-tom club’s song that Mariah’s ‘Fantasy’ is based on. Excellent choises from those boys. I know that Rock lobster is camp and gimmicky- but it sure has some burning riffs in it!!!Better than Dead kennedys. Actually their whole first album is excelent. pity about their 90’s demise into fizz-pop…

Sufjan Stevens eh? That doesn’t sound like something I’d say.

This has got to be the craziest set of recommendations that I have ever seen.

    Keep it comming.

why, this forum of course… that is, until i get reminded that i have No jurisdiction Whatsoever, Please Shut Up. (N-J-W,P-S-U)

Just heard Tv on the radio- very intruiging!
    new Phoenix is good.

Question for all you loyal subscribers:
Who is better, Mariah or Beyonce? and please substantiate your answer. Thighs may be a determining factor, but try to stick to music.
This week Ive been windowcleaning to:
    Womack &Womack
    The Ramones
    Charles Kikuchi
    The Velvet Underground.
    not a bad combo.
    Best morning-motivational song?

I gotta say I prefer Beyoncé. But having thought about it, it really does have nothing to do with music. Beyoncé seems to have more credibility. Why this is I don’t know. She really has nothing above Mariah in that sense (Jay-z?? would a “Pepsi Can” really make up for all of his musical sins? I don’t think so). At least Tony Mollotta didn’t collaborate with her at any point, in a vocal format.

here is a playlist to make you feel great:

No Confidence Man - Elliott Smith
Trouble (Cat Stevens Cover) - Elliott Smith
Stained Glass Eye - Elliott Smith
    Twilight - Elliott Smith
    There There - Radiohead
Call Me On Your Way Back Home - Ryan Adams
Come Pick Me Up - Ryan Adams
    Plainclothes Man - Heatmiser
The Lord God Bird - Sufjan Stevens
    Mistress - Sufjan Stevens
    Undertaker - M. Ward
    I’ll Be Yr Bird - M. Ward
    Heartbeats - José González
Evening On The Ground (Lilith’s Song) - Iron & Wine

    Best motivational song? (ATM)
New York, New York - Ryan Adams
