Patience please
Well … it appears that the plugin I was using to generate the galleries here no longer works.
I wonder when that happened? In the mean time you can see most of my pictures on flickr
Please bear with me, a change is coming.

Don’t be scared
A lot of people seem to like this design, but for a long time now I’ve felt it doesn’t really represent my feelings on web design accurately (which as I’m a web designer and this is my portfolio is sort of important).
Specifically I’m talking about readability, typography and changes to the way that I use […]

Ah memories
So they are making a 4th Indiana Jones film, I hope it’s good, the title isn’t. What does look good though, is these Indiana Jones trading cards TOPPS has released featuring original art from artist Patrick Schoenmaker. Click the image to see the rest on Patrick’s blog. Via Drawn!

Change is good
The Royal Mint has revealed a new coinage design for the first time in a long time. It’s the result of a public competition which was won by is Matthew Dent a 26-year-old graphic designer, originally from Bangor who now lives and works in London.
Matthew’s design features different parts of a single image, the Royal […]

Pause, OK, wait! Pause again! Harakiri
I hope this is a the first in a series of homages to great movie stills. Some of these stand so well on their own, just print them out and stick them on your wall.
I may have been a bit behind on this one, but I saw this for the first time only fairly recently. All […]

Finally
I am notoriously lax when it comes to updating this site, I just looked and it was October when I last posted … oh dear. Anyway, I’ve been working on something, so I’ll say that’s why it’s been so long.
A long time ago I buried the music link on this site with the intention of making […]

外国人
Sitting in a high rise apartment in Tokyo, it’s pretty late at night. I’ve uploaded some photos of the trip so far. We’ve seen a castle, a lot of gardens and getting ready to get some modern Tokyo craziness.
Click the picture to see the other photos.
(I’ve broken the galleries here, you might have noticed, they are working […]

I am a fan
From “Bottle Rocket” to “The Life Aquatic” something about the way Wes Anderson puts a movie together is … I want to say magical, but I’m afraid that might sound pretentious … but then I did say it … so yeah, magical.

A house in the country
Charles, David and I all trekked up to the country on the weekend. We took our families and a lot of musical equipment.
Thankfully we have something to show for it, other than a rested feeling at the beginning of the week (not that that isn’t worthwhile in itself).

Here’s a funny face
This is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.

Hello Cooper Lily
On the 9th of March 2007 we welcomed our little girl into the world. She came a week early, but i think had she come on time, or later, we would have been just as unprepared. Hello Cooper.

New Moon
Looking through sweetadeline.net (an elliott smith website) I see there will be a “new” double album released on May 8th called New Moon.
It’s a collection from his time with the Kill Rock Stars label, arguably his finest moment. Hurrah for posthumous releases.
Let’s hope that it doesn’t become a Jeff Buckley type debacle. You can have too much […]
-
George Michael
No not the singer-songwriter, he’s not likely to show up on stolen.
His real name is Michael Cera but you know him as “George Michael” from Arrested Development
It’s apparently a parody of a real “resumé” type video … which you can see here

Help! I took a photo
Here is a helpful site for those who want their photos to look a little better than the way they do when they come straight out of the camera.
Personally I have a lot of trouble in this regard. The problem is I could fiddle with curves, levels, saturation, filter layers and all the other options available […]

On this day
Happy anniversary Micah & Rachel!

Not quite origami
I got this as an email quite a while ago, but just today someone (thanks Kieran) passed on a link to Peter Callesen’s actual website.
I reckon most people have probably seen this by now (I am notoriously late getting on bandwagons) but it’s worth posting because it is so good. It’s really quite amazing.
I think what makes […]

Sites to admire
I’ve changed the Links page here to grab an rss feed from my del.icio.us links. This means that the links page will be updated everytime I add a new site on del.icio.us (more often as opposed to not at all).
Some of the latest sites to admire are:

Who’d have thought?
That guy is a real pill. What was she doing with him in the first place?

Some new images
I have managed to be quite lax in updating stolen recently, as you’ve probably noticed. But I decided to update the work related gallery section with some print related stuff I have completed lately.
I also want to make a drumkit related post soon, as there are some things to be said about that. I’ll at least […]

Say hello to my little friend

One Year
Here is an event that had escaped my notice until now. Stolen has been online for a year. I think I missed it because it certainly doesn’t feel like a year. It feels more like last week :/
But to everyone who reads and makes fun of me, thanks! You’ve made it entertaining.

Cross Bones Style
Here is Cat Power and her song “Cross Bones Style”, Jamie refered to this in questions of a musical nature. I hadn’t seen seen it, so I “googled” it. Check it

The Cobra Massive
www.myspace.com/thecobramassive
Here’s a turn up. My brother is in a band called, you guessed it, The Cobra Massive. Now before you form any kinds of opinions of what kind of music they might play based on that name, check out their myspace. It’s pretty good, I look forward to hearing more.
I’m told there was a lot of […]

Magic Potion
Thanks to Will for alerting me to the fact that the Black Keys have a new album comming out. Which, based on the preview tracks available on myspace, sounds awesome.
There are 4 to listen to located on their myspace page www.myspace.com/theblackkeys.
Tell me you are excited about this …

Cause for excitement
Upon my arrival at work this morning I was greeted by this …
Heroes in a half shell! This looks so great! Well admittedly I can’t really tell what the movie will be like. But it LOOKS great.
I have a real soft spot for the ninja turtles, I was a fan of the old movies and the cartoon. […]

Apollo Bay
We are on a weeks holiday in Apollo Bay. I seem to be spending half my life down here these days, not that there is anything wrong with that. I do like it here. The drive is getting a bit old.
On the way down I hit a kangaroo, not enough to hurt it, (pretty massive it […]

Questions of a musical nature
Shannon mentioned me over at her site, when answering these questions … I’ve never done one before so why not eh?
Total amount of music files on your computer: 3912
The last CD you bought was:
Augie March - Moo, you bloody choir
What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Some “The Cure” song, I’m not really […]

May 1 Reboot
Well … I kinda made it. The site is redesigned. There are a number of things to clean up and tweak, but the majority of the work is done.
Signing up for the may1reboot was a way of motivating myself to actually update the site rather than let it languish in its previous form.
I’ve tried to make […]

Pictures
If you look around here you’ll notice that the galleries are looking a touch weird. At the momment I am reinstalling the software and tweaking in lieu of the May 1st reboot, which I am really panicking about.
I was sure I had all the time in the world. Apparently not.

A favour
I’ve been putting some of the songs I put here on 15 megs of fame. Would you mind ever so clicking the link and rating them. I think you’ll have to sign up, but it is worth it as you’ll have access to alot of music you’ve never heard before. It’s a good site and […]

One hundred
I was looking through my site statistics today and apparently there have been 100 downloads of “Drama Queen”. Now before you all start saying that 99 of it was me, it wasn’t … well I don’t think it was (I’m looking at you Olivia).
So, yeah. Thanks for giving it a go, everyone who listened and especially […]

2006 eh?
So new year and all that … I’m sick of seeing King Kong’s face up here so I am posting to get rid of it. Nothing to say really other than, I’m working on some music. I should be able to get something up in the next week or so.
Welcome to the new year, hope it […]

I don’t get it
King Kong eh? I may be the only person in the world but … i cant get past the thought of how stupid it looks on paper … even in 1933.
Script writer walks into a movie boss’s office …
“hey i’ve got this great idea for a movie … it’s about the love between a gorilla […]

My shoes need a polish
My Grandfather died not so long ago. On the day of the funeral Uncle Laurie decided that his shoes needed a clean and my Dad decided he should help him.

Some nice lighting
Some photos of my mate the bass player. Lovre is his name and he is in a band called “Askapilot”. There was some very nice lighting floating around last Sunday while we were recording.Check out how he looks playing, then check out how he sounds on Sorry.

When the lights go out
One song into the final recording session for the bass guitar the power went out, with a bang. After a moments panic when my laptop turned itself off (it shouldn’t, it’s a laptop for crying out loud), we realised nothing was lost, but nothing more could be done.
So we went to the pub. When the lights […]

World cup
Australia made the World Cup last night. Who would have thought eh? Exciting stuff.
Now I don’t imagine for a second that they are going to win, but it will be nice to see them beat England.

Movies
We went to the movies last night and had the great misfortune to catch “flightplan”, which really did look promising. I don’t know why i expect anything from movies these days, they are invariably crappy and i find it embarrassing to be seen sitting in a seat at the end of them.
It started out well enough, […]

Marriage
Olivia and I have been married for four years today … I think that is of some note. Onwards!

There is progress
I haven’t posted in a while here. i wanted my new post to contain a new song that i’ve kinda finished. This is taking longer than i would like it to. I will post something very soon.
Just a progress report i guess. Stay tuned.
On another note, I watched Batman “The mask of the phantasm” last night it’s […]

CentralBlog.
Now I’m not much of a car man myself … but … I know a guy, and gosh does he love his volkswagens. So now at Central Park there is a place for all those other people who love ‘em to hang out (including me, cause I find this level of enthusiasm infectious).
Congratulations to Lee […]

Airport
I got myself an airport express thingy. This device has almost changed my life … I realise I may possibly be overstating its usefulness, or placing far to emphasis on a material possesion, but … man … this is seriously the coolest thing.
From wandering around the house with my iBook connected to the internet wirelessly (!) […]

New image
In an effort to keep up momentum here is a link to a new image in the gallery. It’s a job i completed recently, I had fun doing it and i like the way it turned out.

Welcome everybody, this is officially a “live” site now … whatever that means.
I have finished everything on the 1st to do list I had made (the 2nd and 3rd lists can wait for now) … thank’s to the beta testers and everyone else.
A special shoutout goes to Clint for his patience and forebearing. Without his help this […]

Changes
Well, it’s been a long time coming but we finally moved house on the weekend … it was tough but I’d say worth it. A big thanks to everyone involved in the move and the lead up to the move … gosh … it is certainly a relief to have that bit over.
On another note I […]

Wow, there is apparently a Widget ( for those of us using the new Mac operating system Tiger), that allows you to compose and publish a post to your blog straight from the Dashboard … oh and thats what I did this post with.
Way cool.

Sitting up late at night
So here I am typing another post, mainly so that i can test the navigation that, as it happens only shows up if you have more than one post. Crazy.

Almost ready
This has to be almost ready to go by now
I think after much tweaking and carrying on I am just going to have to put this up and be done with it.
So this is my first official post. Welcome everyone, tell your friends etc. There really isn’t much here, now I come to think about it, but […]
